Power In Nothing!

There's Power In God Alone!

Sometimes I'm tempted to rely on things in this walk of life. For instance, I depend on the doctor to prove my health, the bank to prove my worth, my clothes to keep me warm, and so on.  Yet Christ teaches us powerful lessons throughout the Gospel that faith lies simply in Him, not him and whatever else we rely on. He sent his disciples out, the Word says He gave them power and authority over devils and to cure diseases. Yet he didn't give them special remedies, or touch their coats and give them power, nothing like that! He even tells them to take NOTHING for their journey! No food, no weapons, no change of clothes, not even two coats! Why? Because true faith is trusting completely in Christ. If we don't have enough faith that He's going to supply our basic needs then we will never experience the life changing faith that causes cancer to disappear, our bank accounts to multiply, or our loved one raising from the dead. You know why those things seldom happen anymore, we trust in our jobs, our own abilities, and so many more things outside of where unbreakable, unshakable faith lies! In complete abandon, complete surrender to Jesus Christ!

2 And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick.

3 And he said unto them, Take nothing for your journey, neither staves, nor scrip, neither bread, neither money; neither have two coats apiece.
