Absence - Intro

Absence - Intro

Over the next several weeks in this blog/sermon series we'll be looking at vital aspects of the Christian life that when neglected are detrimental to our spiritual walk. Absence! We are saved by grace through faith but this redeeming, life changing grace WILL work itself out in sanctification and perseverance! The scriptures say "those who endure to the end shall be saved." "They went out from us because they were not of us." "You are a new creation, old things are passed away, behold all things are made new." There is a stark reality that the modern Christian movement seems to forget, faith without works is dead! Easy believism is a lie from Hell, Christ MUST be Lord and Savior. With that said lets look at the topics we'll be covering in the coming weeks.

At the moment there are eleven aspects of the Christian life that should be visible and the absence of these things will suffocate our witness, our testimony, and possibly prove that one has a false confession of salvation!

Church

Scripture

Repentance

Faith & Hope

Holiness

Good Works

Love

Witness & Testimony

Prayer

Knowledge, Understanding, & Wisdom

GOD!

With each aspect we will be dealing with two realities. First, what the absence of each of these creates in the life of a professing believer and secondly, what the absence of each proves about the professing "believer." We must examine ourselves regularly to see if we are of the faith! Without accountability, reproof, exhortation, self-examination, reflection in scripture, confession, and counsel we WILL make ship wreck of our faith! Let me be clear, if the absence of these aspects of the Christian faith are perpetually absent in your life then your confidence of salvation is destroyed and the truth of the matter is that you probably have a false confession and are still dead in your trespasses and sins! The last blog/sermon in this series is titled "The Absence of God!" With the absence of the other aspects there is a blatant reality, God is not present in that life and without God we are hopeless and lost! Don't let this be you! I pray that you'll follow along with us, examine your own walk and motivations, repent, commit, and live worthy of the vocation and calling of our great God and Savior Jesus Christ! God bless!
