Definite/Limited Atonement - 500th Anniversary of the Reformation - The Doctrines of Grace

Definite Atonement - God the Father designed the work of redemption specifically with a view to providing salvation for the elect, and that Christ died for His sheep and laid down His life for those the Father had given to Him.

John 10, Jesus says he's the good shepherd that lays down his life for HIS sheep!

Ephesians says that Christ loved the church and gave himself for it!

It was purposeful not hopeful, it was efficacious not just sufficient, it was perfect not lacking!

John 6 Christ himself speaks of how all that the Father gives him, he will lose none! It also says that all the Father draws will come and Christ will raise them up on the last day!

Spurgeon said and I agree "I would rather believe a limited atonement that is efficacious for all men for whom it was intended, than a universal atonement that is not efficacioius for anybody, except the will of men be added to it."
