Who Can We Trust? Rightly Dividing The Word of Truth! #11

Here we are back for week six of this blog entitled "Who Can We Trust? Rightly Dividing The Word of Truth!" It's amazing how fast the time passes these days! We've been discussing who we can and can't trust in mainstream evangelism today. If you're keeping track you'll notice that my bias is toward Reformed Calvinist's as each one of the trustworthy Evangelicals I've addressed would fall into that category. This should be expected, as I too hold to those doctrines. My very first trustworthy Evangelical was Dr. John MacArthur whom I agree with doctrinally on most points from Calvinism, cessationism, post-trib rapture, baptism, and the literal millennium but today will be a little different. Today we'll be focussing on someone who doesn't fall into the Reformed Calvinist category! Please note that there is a difference between heresy and false doctrines, all heresies are egregious foundational false doctrines but non-heretical false doctrines are falsehoods concerning biblical doctrines that aren't foundational (what we call adiaphora) and such aren't as serious but still important. Heresy is a serious offense to the Gospel and should never be brushed off no matter who speaks it! People's eternity lie in the balance! At the end of the day, it's your job as a Christian to compare what people say and teach with the Word of God and to guard young converts and disciples from heresy, false teachers, and false doctrines that damage the faith and I feel that with the mere Christianity, easy believism,  and ecumenical interfaith fellowship we are failing miserably. Please take the Word and the call upon your life seriously. Todays trustworthy Evangelical is a Charismatic, Pentecostal, Arminian! I know, I know, shocker right. This person is, in my opinion, is the most consistent person on that side who speaks out against the heresy of the WoF movement and the danger of the prosperity Gospel. Today's trustworthy Evangelical is Dr. Michael Brown.

Dr. Brown is the person I listen to  on the other side so I can see both sides of the argument and be balanced theologically. He always represents the other side appropriately and is dedicated to nothing but adherence to the Word of God! Even though we differ on adiaphora, and we differ on a lot, Dr. Brown has my respect and love.

Dr. Brown's bio from his website www.askdrbrown.org

(Michael L. Brown is the founder and president of FIRE School of Ministry in Concord, North Carolina, Director of the Coalition of Conscience, and host of the daily, nationally, syndicated talk radio show, the Line of Fire, as well as the host of the apologetics TV show, “Answering Your Toughest Questions,” which airs on the NRB TV network. He became a believer in Jesus 1971 as a sixteen year-old, heroin-shooting, LSD-using Jewish rock drummer. Since then, he has preached throughout America and around the world, bringing a message of repentance, revival, reformation, and cultural revolution.
He holds a Ph.D. in Near Eastern Languages and Literatures from New York University and has served as a visiting or adjunct professor at Southern Evangelical Seminary, Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary (Charlotte), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Fuller Theological Seminary, Denver Theological Seminary, the King’s Seminary, and Regent University School of Divinity, and he has contributed numerous articles to scholarly publications, including the Oxford Dictionary of Jewish Religion and the Theological Dictionary of the Old Testament.
Dr. Brown is the author of 27 books, including, Our Hands Are Stained with Blood: The Tragic Story of the “Church” and the Jewish People, which has been translated into more than twelve languages, the highly-acclaimed five-volume series, Answering Jewish Objections to Jesus, a commentary on Jeremiah (part of the revised edition of the Expositor’s Bible Commentary), and several books on revival and Jesus revolution. His newest books are The Grace Controversy: Answers to 12 Common Questions (2016), Breaking the Stronghold of Food: How We Conquered Food Addictions and Discovered a New Way of Living (2017, with Nancy Brown) and Saving a Sick America: A Prescription for Moral and Cultural Transformation(2017).
Dr. Brown is a national and international speaker on themes of spiritual renewal and cultural reformation, and he has debated Jewish rabbis, agnostic professors, and gay activists on radio, TV, and college campuses. He is widely considered to be the world’s foremost Messianic Jewish apologist.
He and his wife Nancy, who is also a Jewish believer in Jesus, have been married since 1976. They have two daughters and four grandchildren.)
Dr. Brown has debated Dr. James White on several occasions as well as partnered in debates against non-trinitarians. Proof that Calvinist's and Arminian's can be friends, brother's, and co-laborer's in the Lord. God Bless!
